Motorola's Z8 is a 3G mobile phone with several unique features. The most obvious is on the hardware side. It is a slider, and when you reveal the keyboard the may body of the phone bends thanks to a hinge in its back, so that it takes on a bit of a banana-like shape.
This puts the microphone closer to your mouth and the speaker closer to your ear than is usual and also lends the handset a distinctive look.
The other unique feature is the version of UIQ that the phone runs on. The operating system is more usually seen coupled with touchscreens and in Sony Ericsson's P series handsets. Here the screen is not touch sensitive.
UIQ feels overly complex for a phone which is basically being marked as a multimedia handset. It comes with a movie on microSD card - the Bourne Identity in case you are wondering. I can't see the point of watching a movie on a mobile and prefer the bundled Bluetooth headset.
