Light fidelity, or Li-Fi could soon quite literally revolutionise how we use broadband, replacing the existing router hardware entirely, doing away with problems of going out of range, and boosting data speeds beyond what's currently capable. Perhaps most importantly, the new technology promises to provide enhanced security over router-based internet access too. And the whole thing is made possible thanks to the humble LED light bulb.
