In many ways this mobile is a rerun of the F700. The sliding keyboard of that mobile has disappeared, but many of the other elements remain, including the general look and feel, large front screen, touch control and the user interface.
As an HSDPA handset with a 5 megapixel camera and 130MB of built in storage there is no stinting on the general specifications, and I found the user interface intuitive to get to grips with.
It has to be said, though, that the iPhone still has the edge as far as look and feel goes, even if the F490 wins on features.
