Toshiba Portégé G900 review published

Toshiba's Portégé G900 is the company's first attempt at a Windows Mobile 6 PDA. It has a lot in its favour, not least a well implemented and comparatively large sliding keyboard and 3G data capability.

If you are looking for unique features in a Pocket PC then look no further than the 800 x 480 pixel screen. It is a higher resolution than any I've seen before.

The extra height pixels over a 600 x 480 pixel screen mean that you can see more information at once. With the screen in its tall format, for example, you can see more diary appointments on the Today screen. With the keyboard visible and the screen in wide format you can see longer lines of any text you are entering, or view web pages more efficiently.

On the downside the Portégé G900 is rather chunky and on the heavy side. You'll notice it in a pocket where it needs a lot more space than a standard mobile phone.
