Toshiba Portégé G500 review published

Ever fancied a Windows Mobile Smarthone with fingerprint recognition? If so then Toshiba's Portégé G500 is it.

This device is not state of the art - it runs Windows Mobile 5.0. Nor is is small, sleek or shiny, though it does have a slider format that keeps the number pad hidden away till needed. The bottom line is that this smartphone is aimed at Toshiba's corporate clients rather than your average consumer.

Still, it does have some high end features. It is a 3G device with HSDPA and it has a front facing camera for video calling. There is also a 2.0 megapixel camera on the back. The fingerprint sensor can be used not only to get you into the device itself but also to launch individual applications which you assign to particular fingers or your thumbs. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, the Opera Web browser and the Picsel file viewer are also included.
