E-TEN Glofiish X500+ Pocket PC review published

E-TEN likes to do 'firsts' or 'thinnest and lightest' type stuff with its Pocket PCs. The Glofiish X500+ is the first Pocket PC to run Windows Mobile 6 and have GPS and have a 640 x 480 display.

This trio of attributes is pretty alluring, and when you add in the Wi-Fi and an FM radio, you've got almost all that a Pocket PC can offer. Only almost all, because the Glofiish X500+ doesn't have 3G in its armoury, just quad band GSM.

E-TEN pumps plenty of software extras into its devices and in this case they run to a range that includes an SMS generator that can pop your latitude and longitude into a message thanks to the GPS antenna, a phone blacklist utility, anniversary reminder, Today screen application picker and a utility for scanning business cards with the built in camera and dropping contact information gleaned from them straight into the Contacts database.

Does the business card scanner work? Does the whole thing hang together as a desirable Pocket PC?
