Acer P610 Portable Navigator review published

With Satellite Navigation still on its growth curve in terms of popularity new products are appearing with alarming regularity. Acer has not always been at the forefront in terms of speed to market or quality of devices, but the new P610 shows what the company can do if it puts its mind to things.

The core software has been built by CoPilot, whose own offerings are among the best available in my view, and that is a good start. The widescreen format helps too. However, the P610 is at the low end of a trio of devices, and Acer has chosen to hamper this version, its 'bargain basement' offering, by only having four digit postcode navigation instead of full seven digit. In this the company does itself an unnecessary disservice.

Still, the P610 can play music files and show picture too, if that's what you want from a SatNav.
